FIRE!!!

Another GREAT vacation day today. We were up pretty early and set off with a tour group to Betel Nut Li and Miao Ethnic Minority Park As the title may suggest, the Li and Miao Ethnic groups have set up a tourist park.. It was fascinating. There are betel-nut trees everywhere and the whole are is set up to show the traditional lifestyle of the people. It was only a little touristy because they have gone to great lengths to give it an original feel.

We had a really cool tour guide who kept everyone entertained the whole day. We were herded around and he explained everything to us (and Terri translated for me).

When we arrived we just walked around with the guide and then we watched a wonderful performance on a huge stage (my blip is part of the show). After that everyone had about an hour to do their own thing and get lunch. We were told the price of the ticket included the bus, park entrance and the cable. After lunch we headed for what we thought was an electric cart to take us to the cable which would take us to the top of the mountain and then we'd walk back. Unfortunately, something got a little lost in the translation/understanding and the 'cable' turned out to be a very high 100m flying fox. (Not sure what other people call them but you are strung in a harness below a long wire and you slide down.) Terri doesn't do well with heights but she bravely made it down (even though it may have been screaming all the way with her eyes closed).

All in all another wonderful day. We stopped at a restaurant for some regular dishes mid afternoon and came back to the hotel to rest before going out for dinner. .We didn't make it out.. Someone is all tuckered out.
