Storm

We were warned we would get some bad weather overnight, and we did.  Really bad.  The Nelson region is not the only place to be hit hard.......Dunedin, Greymouth and the West Coast have suffered big time too.  My thoughts go out to everyone.  I feel very fortunate that I wasn't affected too badly at all - sun umbrella and base blown over and a large pot on the deck blown over - but those closer to the coastal areas have been pummelled.  It was the combination of the arrival of the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Fehi bringing a deep low and high winds right on high tide - a super-moon [very] high tide.

I went down to Tahuna to have a look after work, as did quite a few others.  Heavens!  I think there's over 5m - maybe as much as 10m - of dunes that have just disappeared.
