Miniature Dragon

Tremendous response to yesterday's heavy jumper blip. Lots of hearts and stars and it even scraped into spotlight, so thank you all for your support.

Jumpers are generally referred to as cute, well as cute as an arachnid can be, but the consensus seemed to be that this one was on the scary side. It was actually quite cute, once you get past the size thing. Lots of vids on YouTube if you want to see it in action

As for today's blip, this tiny little dragon is only about an inch long, significantly smaller than the usual dragons. I don't think it is a rarity, but I do not get to see it very often. The few times I have managed to capture an image, it has always been on the ground, amongst the leaf litter and very well camouflaged.

If you look at the rear wing, you will see the rather open and sparse cell structure in comparison to larger dragons, an indication of its diminutive size.

I had to wipe the mud off my chin after shooting this little gem and will be doing some laundry after posting this, as the ground was very wet after heavy rain last night.
