IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY

that when we look at the sky from our balcony (south-east) we see an all blue heaven, but wait let's have a look from the front-window (north-west) the darkest clouds you can image fill the sky. Towards the sea the clouds are blown away.
This was not the case today however.
So in the morning Mischa and I deliberated where to go, walk or cycle, to the north (Scheveningen) or to the south (Hoek of Holland) or perhaps better go not that far and walk, with umbrellas, prepared for the worst. First we walked under the pine trees of the cemetry, where the squirrels would jump looking for pine-apples perhaps. None to be seen. A lot of birds we did see. Some anyway.
Then we visited the garden-centre, full of Christmas-sphere.
From there to the Bijdorp city farm. We found out that one pig had died some time ago and the other was inspecting the new strow in her little home she had just got. She seemed to smile but the picture I took was not clear enough to show here.
The goat in her home did better and so she is the star today.
At the end of the afternoon we went to see the sunset at the sea. Much fresh air for an autumnal day and wind too. Mischa's heron here.

My haiku:

Lost in the forest
Of dark thoughts we travel on
Searching the bright lights

And the german proverb:

Where there is much light, the shadows are deeper.
