Less is often More!

Finally got myself into the studio this morning and started up the wood stove!   it's been way too long since i did some painting so i was eager to start!    Laid down a few more layers on about 5-6 paintings, which is wonderful and challenging, and i find myself in and out of the 'zone'.

Took a break, had lunch and a read on the couch!   Made some split pea soup for dinner .... using up the ham bone we had left over!

Back to the studio and i got out a painting that had perhaps 2 coats already, and felt like it needed to be quieter!  so this is where it started going off the rails!   At this stage i liked a lot of what was going on, but knew i wasn't done .... so i kept going!   see the extra for where it ended up about an hour later...plus a beer!   Tomorrow much of this will be changed and covered.   But i wanted to make note of how i don't seem to be able to stop myself from getting things too complicated and too busy!   All good stuff for learning, and i feel happy to have squelched the voice that says negative stuff!!!
