A Tiny Confirmation

I don't know about "twinkly", that being the sub-theme for Tiny Tuesday this week. I have got the fake tree out, but my hearts not in it and so it stands there skinny and green, bereft of much in the way of twinkle. Perhaps I'll leave it for Friday, when Charlotte comes home.

Janet's not been doing so well. Although the drain in her currently blocked transplanted kidney is now flowing mostly clear, the creatinine levels are still quite high and her GFR - the guestimated percentage kidney function - isn't increasing very much. I should say for the record she is upbeat and mostly calm.

In order to find the blockage - a prerequisite to fixing it - the hospital needs to do a CT scan. The die injected during a CT Scan can react with the creatinine and cause significant damage to the kidney. We are currently in between a rock and a hard place.

No-one wants to do anything quickly, but at the same time the blockage causes damage too, so something must at some stage happen. In the meantime we are getting used to the possibility we may be marking Yule and Christmas and even (gods forbid) New Year at Southmead...

In other news, ultra-voilet lamps are useful for checking the genuineness of bank notes, and I no longer shoot Canon.
