Floater

I  found this moth in the grey water tub (rinse water from the washing machine to put on plants). After photographing it I carefully lifted it out. It dried quickly in the searing sunshine and fluttered away.

The markings are similar to NZ native carpet moths, Asaphodes sp. There are several like this one. They belong to the looper family.

Temperatures in the thirties again today. It was 41ºC in the greenhouse.
