Sunday 15 March 2009: Pelicans
<back blip>
Our first full day in Key West. We found the southern-most point in the continental USA and visited a civil war fort (Fort Taylor) before heading out for our first dives of the trip. The diving was good, but not as spectacular as some places we've been. Still, we had a lovely tiime - it's so relaxing to just bob around watching the fish all around you!
Key West seems like a fun place, but the most striking thing is the pelicans - they are everywhere at the waterfront, often diving into the water to catch fish! They are really quite large, and most ungainly looking! These ones were just hanging out on a hut at the harbour when we got back in.
