Logan Botanic Garden

Today's the day …………………… to celebrate

You could be forgiven for thinking that we had gone to a foreign land today with the cabbage trees, agapanthus and tall spires of the Echium pininana - not to mention the blue skies and hot sunshine.

It was the perfect way to celebrate Will's 70th birthday.  Arrange for some good weather and then take him off to Logan Botanic Garden for a walk amongst the exquisite plants to be found there.  Give him a good lunch sitting outside in the sunshine, next to the water lily pond.  Then show him Castle Kennedy - a very different sort of a garden, but equally interesting in its own way with its ruined castle (see extra) and long tree-lined avenues - and let him do a painting of the White Loch.  Then come back home with just enough time for a birthday aperitif in the garden here, before dining out in a restaurant in Kirkcudbright.

Birthday well and truly celebrated …………………….
