Pendreich

I've blipped Cocksburn Reservoir (also called Pendreich) before. But not since the lockdown reservoir project's official start date so here it is again. And not only the reservoir but some swimmers in the chilly 8.5 degree water. This hardy bunch are members of the local mountain rescue team. Another group of women swimmers had just emerged from a dip.

It's a lovely walk to and round the reservoir. It's a very easy walk as a path has been constructed all the way round. I think it was part of the mitigation when the monster pylons which you can see in the background were installed. These huge beasts march from Denny, near Falkirk, to Beauly, near Inverness, a distance of some 220km. They're enormous and pretty ugly but we all want the electricity they carry.

I've walked here before but now it can formally join the list of reservoirs I plan to visit this autumn and winter. See extra for a view without the swimmers.
