To See New Englandly

Hot! Hot! Hot!

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom today where the fun started with the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! street parade. It is amazing not only how unbelievably well orchestrated and these events are (including security and traffic management), but how really into their jobs all of the Disney employees are. I love seeing when someone loves their job, and that was apparent all throughout the Magic Kingdom.

The parades are finely choreographed performances, and as with every ride, show, and area of Disney, they have their own soundtracks. This one had a catchy little tune I had stuck in my head all day (and for several days after), and I'm a bit embarrassed to say I later found out it's a Hannah Montana song. (Talk about musical shame!)

Unfortunately for us, this was the highlight of the day, as things went downhill from here. The crowds were much thicker today than yesterday, the humidity and temperatures were also higher, and my daughter just wasn't feeling herself. Nothing interested her, she was clingy and whiny, and we later ended up in the infirmary when she ran a fever. The diagnosis was "she's just wiped out."

We left the park early and headed back to the hotel where we cooled off in the pool for a few hours (doctor's orders!). My daughter was still running a temperature later in the evening, so we called it an early night and were all in bed by 8:30. Plans for tomorrow are to play it by ear.
