Follow the Leader

It's a beautiful day today, so this morning I took Scarlett out for a walk in her pram while Rachel caught up with some jobs at home. It's the first time Rach has been without her, so she was a little anxious, but I assured her I would take good care of her and agreed a time we would be home :-)

I walked down to Sankey Valley Park which follows the course of one of England's oldest canals linking Warrington with Widnes in one direction and St Helens in the other. It's a lovely place with footpaths and cycle tracks, and there's a variety of wildlife. Today there were lots of swans on the canal including these youngsters - I love the way they're all in a line following the mallard duck.

Scarlett's not very happy with us this afternoon though - I bought a kit to take an impression of her hands and feet and Rach said we'd do it this afternoon. So after rolling out the clay we had to wet her hand and foot to make an imprint, but this was easier said that done. Anyone would have wondered what we were doing to her with all the noise she was making. We finally managed it, but ended up doing two feet impressions as the hand wasn't very clear. Unfortuantely, this then meant she had to have a bath as she had bits of clay stuck to her feet so she got upset again, poor little thing!

Anyway, she's now clean and relaxed again and having a nice cuddle with her mummy - hopefully, all is forgiven!
