Final Resting Place.

Finally cut off the stems on the amaryllis.....i think i'll try and save the bulb this time, and see what happens next year! As long as i can remember where i put it - once i've decided!

We actually have some sunshine today....and i went for a short walk, it was still pretty cold - but i think it's the first walk i've taken in a couple of days! it's just been very unattractive out there!

Finished a really good book "A Walk Across the Sun" by Corban Addison....it was a brilliantly written book, the subject matter was a bit harrowing at times to read....centers on the trafficking of very young girls into the sex slave trade! Holy shit....i can hardly put into words how disturbing that whole world is....one line, near the end has struck me very deeply -

"Trafficking will stop when men stop buying women. Until that happens, the best we can do is win one battle at a time"

This is a very well written book, the author hasn't sensationalized this world at all...and as he says in his afterword...."There is no need to sensationalize modern slavery, It is horrifying enough as it is."

Enough said....if you want a very gripping and amazingly optimistic book...i'd highly recommend this one!
