Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat

In an attempt to walk off a calorie or two of the several million consumed in yesterday's chocolate truffles we donned boots and warm coats and took ourselves up across Mortonhall Golf Course to the radio masts on Braid Hill, with its fine view of the city and Arthur's Seat.

It wasn't quite that straightforward, as may be seen in the photo; snow lay inches deep and at the summit we were entertained by the arrival of the blizzard, the dark cloud approaching from behind Arthur's Seat, stinging the face and even finding its way into my pocket.

I don't think many calories were used up but I enjoyed every minute.
