A Murmuration...

...of Fieldfares. Or does that only apply to Starlings?

Down in Gullane, walking towards the beach, we witnessed what must be the greatest number of Fieldfares we have ever seen, this tree represents but a small fraction of the total; they were covering two other bare trees here and a similar number in the scrub near the dunes, some grazing on the grass and others circling over the whole, taking off and whirling round to perch again - it was an awsome sight. If they have a taste for Sea Buckthorn berries they will find plenty for all.

The walk along the beach and dunes, then back under the pines, was bracing but less exciting.
