Project 365 day 147: Abstract, waiting for beans

Today's Abstract Thursday theme of simplicity fits perfectly with my extremely simple approach to abstract photos: I walk around the garden, or the house if the weather is terrible, or the village (or, in theory, some other place that is still out there waiting to be rediscovered in due course), and choose interesting shapes, colours or textures to frame. There are always lots of options: today I liked the varied colours and sizes of the big stack of aging bamboo canes which are leaning against a fence waiting to be made into another year's wigwams for another crop of beans. There will be borlotti beans with their striking crimson streaked pods, white runner beans for drying, climbing French beans, and usually Soissons beans, a little flageolet type white bean, which are nice fresh from the pod or dried, but I couldn't get any seed this year. The beans seem to have been unusually slow and difficult to get started this spring, but they are finally showing a bit more enthusiasm, so I'm still hopeful. Growing vegetables is all about hope and faith in the future.
