Plaisirs

An outing with a varied shopping list: 100 cebas, sweet onion plants from Lesinhan la ceba (Lézignan-la-cèbe) for the garden, floor tiles for the bathroom in the little house, and a wonderful treat for me when E took us to an early birthday lunch because she won't be here for my actual birthday next week. After wandering in the sun and shady narrow streets of the old town in Pézenas as it is all just waking up for this year's season and the tourists begin to arrive this weekend, we went to La Mamita, a Spanish restaurant, for delicious tapas (anchovies and boquerones, charcuterie, grilled calamares, pan amb tomaquet), escalope of pata negra for me, the best pork I've ever tasted, tuna for E, cuttlefish and chorizo for LoJ, and an excellent bottle of red Plaisirs from nearby Domaine Monplezy (as well as making very good wine, they've chosen my favourite bird, a hoopoe, for their labels). All in all, a wonderful treat!
