Making more Collage paper.

It has been a strange day for sure!  

I spent the morning creating more collage paper, using plain white tissue paper and stencils, with acrylic paint.  It's a fun and relaxing way to spend a couple of hours.

In other, sadder, news, my daughter Bronwyn's mother-in-law passed away, very suddenly, in her sleep the night before last!   Dave, her husband has just left Victoria, BC, and is on route to Toronto to be with his family!   Such a shock and just so terrible sad.   His parents had just retired at the end of the year, and were due to fly out to Victoria on the 6th, she passed away during the night prior to their departure!   It puts everything into perspective for sure....and has such a huge impact on so many people.

It is also somewhat reminiscent to what i experienced over 30 years ago.  My mother, about the same age as Dave's, died suddenly.....my girls were only a year old... Brighson is just a year old.....and i had to travel a long way to get to my family.   My family are still in Scotland, and we were in Hamilton, Ont.   Dave lives on the west coast, and his family are in Ontario.   He has a long haul ahead of him, and my heart aches for him and his family.   Also for Bronwyn...who is still at home taking care of Brighson! 

Once again we are reminded of the fragility of this life.....so spread your love and kindness around, let go of old hurts and regrets, do what brings you joy when you can.
