By the sea

In our room we have a big bay window over the beach, sea sprayed and sunny in the afternoons, while all day and all night the waves boom, the tide rises almost to the road and then goes back to reveal the glistening rocks. It's rough and we're glad it wasn't like this when we were on the ferry last week but it's bright and sunny and we sat outside at a cafe on the prom to have a sandwich lunch. This shot was taken from our table. This morning we went to the Arts Centre to see an exciting exhibition of models of beach huts - an amazing variation of designs on a basic theme that has given us ideas for renovating our garden shed when we get home. Tea with family this afternoon. A lovely day that will end with dinner at the rather special Gwesty Cymru (Wales Hotel) where we've booked a table.

I'm horrified by the terrible events in Boston and thinking of those involved, but also think every day of those in other countries - Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Palestine among others - where people have to suffer such attacks all the time, often because of the failures of western politicians now and in the past.
