A STRANGE MUSHROOM

I thought, an odd one on a big branch in the water where I had been observing the heron that was preening her neck and back. Approaching nearer I was surprised to see it was a turtle. I had to discard the reed to take some pictures. But here she is.
There was also a lone swan, some ducks not too friendly to each other and some coots.

My haiku:

Turtle sunbathing
Heron nearby glanced briefly
Way too big for her

And the proverb by Robert Burton (1577-1640):

All poets are mad.
