Light in the woods

3,500 kilometres - it's been quite a round trip, carrying wine and expectations north and bringing back family archives, many happy memories and a milking stool, yes, a milking stool I bought on the spur of the moment in a Llandeilo junk shop to remind me of part of my childhood on Welsh dairy farms, and now we're home. There's a lot of unpacking and unwinding to do, catching up with friends here and, for me, the small matter of an article to write, due in four days' time!

We don't have beech woods here. Coming through the sud-ouest I was fascinated by the play of light on bright green leaves, and tried to bring some of that home too.
