Luang Prabang hospital

We got a tuktuk to the hospital today as Annie has been unwell for longer than 2 days.

We all found this picture hilarious as we shouldn't really be taking any in the hospital. I captured this just as the doctor said to Annie that she could have malaria. She also has a thermometer under her arm. There is also a monk in the background and a lady to the side of her almost dying.

Annie got a blood test. When they did it, the test was in front of everyone. It's crazy how different the hospitals are over here. Definitely wouldn't want to be seriously ill over here. We watched them push a lady through on an almost collapsed bed and she got pushed into the door and the hygiene there is super awful!
We waited and hour and they told us it was good news. She just had a virus and was very dehydrated. We took the tuktuk back that had been waiting for us for longer than 2 hours. Had some street food (huge baguette and shake) I have about 3 milkshakes out here a day. They are sooo good.

All of us went to a very cool restaurant this evening. We got masses of free shots but none of us were drinking so seemed very pointless. They served one of the shots in a syringe. We had a expensive supper for our budget but it was definitely worth it!
