Lioness

Day 19, This morning we were out as usual at Sparrow fart and saw a good amount of game, we virtually tripped over a couple of Giraffe as soon as we left the gate and soon had added Rhino, Buffalo & Elephant to the list in addition to the usual suspects of Impala ( AKA Dinner, we dined on Impala Steaks last night, Delicous!), we also saw a few Tortoise as well, looking like abandoned Army Helmets strewn across the road. Then, as we were returning to the camp for breakfast we saw this Lioness limping across the track down the hill from us so I knocked the car out of gear, switched of the engine and coasted down towards her. as we got there she was just settling down into the undergrowth and we were only about 25ft away from her. She was very patient with us as we rattled off shot after shot but at some point we must have spoken a bit too loud and we then had her undivided attention. she gave out a short sharp roar that melted your insides and reminded you that, like the Impala, to her given the chance, you were just an item on a Menu
