Red-necked Spurfowl (Pternistis afer)

Day 21, And the Drakensberg Mountains have disappeared, the cloud has decended right to the valley floor, well coming from Scotland, that is pretty normal hill walking weather so we set of to climb to one of the passes, 4 hours later we reached the view Point... which was like staring out of a soggy Tupperware box. so retracing our soggy steps it was back to the Chalet for beers by the wood burning stove, a supper of Local Rainbow Trout and an early night as we had a big drive the next day.

We had seen a few different gamebirds on our travels but this one was notably different with its red legs, it was only later when I was looking online did I notice the red patch on the neck that I could correctly identify it as a Red-Necked Spurfowl. Another one for BlipBigYear.
