This is me and the Bear on an evening walk in desperation trying to chill him out enough to go to sleep. It chilled me out (literally - brrr) but it didn't work. We walked back past the car and he started wriggling and squawking and so into the car we climbed and he was asleep in minutes. Sigh. Well, if it works... On the other hand, Bean's had almost a week of car bedtimes and is out of the habit of nursing to sleep so was happy to have supper and let Steve read him stories to go to sleep. He forced himself to stay awake long enough to hear the end of The Gruffalo's Child, sighed, and fell fast asleep!

What day has it been today... Saturday... Saturday usually means swimming but I wanted to stay in bed feeling sorry for myself, but ended up coming out with Steve and the boys for coffee in town with friends! Coffee turned into lunch for the kids when Bean decided he didn't want to go swimming yet. Unfortunately he ended up learning a hard lesson that "not yet" isn't an option when it comes to swimming lessons. They're not going to wait for you.

Back home, Bear slept and Bean played cbeebies computer games and I slept a bit too. A very slow afternoon. Followed by a walk to the chip shop for some air and some chips. And then bedtime shenanigans....
