Pruning

Municipal worker D was hard at work this morning pruning the olive tree in the square with his assistant B. As the person who carefully mows round wild orchids in the lawns of the holiday centre and researches what type they are, he takes his gardening responsibilities seriously. I'm sure he'd ensured he knew how to do it correctly.  He is actually in this picture but you'll have to go large and peer to see him! (he's standing on the scaffolding platform).

It took them the best part of their working day, and it looked great when done (extra). I remember being told that olive trees should be pruned in a way that allows birds to fly freely between the branches, and they've certainly achieved that.

Not much else to report -- I managed to achieve my aborted shopping trip from Friday without any disruption from angry farmers, so I have food now. It's been another grey, miserable day, although it hasn't actually rained that much. Quiet evening in again!
