Sally Mair - Loving life

Down on the farm

I've often mentioned Craigie's, a farm shop and restaurant just out of town. It was a lovely sunny day today so Colin and I went there for our lunch.
This is the display that greets you as you go into the shop. They also have a butcher and baker on site as well as a selection of tasty luxury foods.
Most of the year the farm has pick your own available, ranging from vegetables to sunflowers, pumpkins to jam fruits and the best cherries I've ever tasted! Just now though the veg are picked by staff.
Back home, having enjoyed sitting in the sunny window of the cafe, I set to to make a casserole for Ali.
I finished just in time for some TV quizzes which we watched over a light finger food tea. We ate early tonight as we went to bridge.
While at bridge, we were disturbed by the very loud thundering of hail on the roof of the adjacent conservatory. We didn't see it or hear it but apparently there was also a very loud and dramatic thunder storm. Glad we were indoors.
We had a good night at bridge and won by a large margin. For those bridge players among you I bid and made two small slams. Very pleased.
Thank you for the nice comments about yesterday's tea service. It isn't going anywhere you'll be glad to know.
