Wendy's World

We had intended to spend the morning in Staithes as we last visited during the two lockdowns when we were allowed to go further abroad but we found the village of narrow streets too busy for comfort and beat a hasty retreat to The Hayloft.  I say we had intended to spend the morning there, but unfortunately we had tyre issues, probably after driving across the tracking laid down on the muddy parking field at the weekend's orienteering.  So, we headed home via Guisborough Kwikfit where we were told we couldn't book in till 12 o'clock, so it was over the road to the Hollyhock Café for second breakfasts and then round Sainsbury's to fill up on shopping.  Sure enough the engineer showed us the bolt which was stuck in our tyre and a new one was purchased and we were back on the road.

On a completely different subject, I always feel the pressure when Tony is checking the accounts, no real reason because I don't refurbish my wardrobe every month or impulse buy  Ladro figuirines, but last week I was very glad he checked them because it would appear someone had spent a not insignificant amount of our money on seafood at a London company!  Thankfully, a call to the credit card company has resulted in the money going back into our account and a new card issued.  So I shall not sigh when Tony next takes out the receipts and directs questions in my direction.

Oh and Andrew is coming to fit the new carpet tomorrow!
