The Long and Short of It

Oh the luxury of a trip to and from Porty beach in a car- the first time in 7 months and in the company of a Stromness Selkie down in Edinburgh to meet her daughter and partner. It’s quite a different experience to get to the briny and back in an hour and a half with a dip at high tide in a gentle sea  thrown in. Once more the stars were aligned. There was no actual swimming, there being an absence of buoys to swim to which there are in Stromness but we puddled about out of my depth ( although I’m not sure if it was out of Penny’s depth) for a delightful length of time during which a few handstands were executed

After lunch there was a walk to the hairdresser for a short back and sides hair cut, a style which suits the sea. It’s still really cold . The sun is trying its best to dish out some warmth but the wind is bitter. In fact, the sea water was warmer than the air temperature this morning. Mustn’t whinge though -daughter #1,  in Cullen,  had wind and rain all night with hail stones rattling her window this morning, although she has blue skies now.

It’s been a lovely day today , I’m not really looking forward to tomorrow . I have a catch up at Partyland to attend.
