Life's Little Moments

Eye to Eye

Those of you who know me could have predicted this.  Having discovered a small colony of male Eastern Carpenter Bees down by our shed yesterday afternoon, I was destined to blip one sooner than later.  The males are all being very territorial right now which makes for some really fun photos.  They will hover in front of anything they deem a threat - never mind that they have no stingers and lack any way to enforce the "fearsome" demeanor.  The tricky thing, of course, is that they are very agile flyers and change course frequently, making it hard to keep them in the frame.  But lots of fun trying.

While I was down by the shed chasing bees, the bluebirds were keeping an eye on me.  They seem to have adjusted to the new nest box location (I moved the box by a couple of feet to put it on a sturdier pole).  I will check tomorrow to see if she's started laying yet.

Hubs had to go into the office today for a meeting but will be home soon.  We are very lucky that he is able to work from home 95% of the time as the office is over an hour away.

Tonight we are meeting up with some friends for dinner - as usual, too much time has gone by so we are really looking forward to seeing them.
