River of Flowers

Monday: Courgette & Rain

Grey & overcast when we got up around 6:30 - MrD thought he'd heard objects being moved outside, after checking all around the house he found nothing ... mystery?

After breakfast MrD went off to the auction office to see if he could put his concrete mixer in the next sale, later this morning we had a message from a friend whose brother wants the concrete mixer, result :-)

Around 11am, I decided to go outdoors, the house felt very warm and stuffy even with all the windows open. Outside was certainly fresher and there was some very fine rain falling - I continued with the current job of emptying pots which only had compost in them, saving the compost and gravel which I was putting through the garden sieve.

The homemade compost in the bin I emptied onto the long deep bed a few days ago has dried nicely so I planted 3 Courgette "Striato d'Italia" - started off beginning of March and hoping they'll get going now the weather has warmed up a bit ... and the rain! I may start off a few more as an insurance policy ...

Did a bit of family history this afternoon but soon got myself in deep water :-((

Potted on tomatoes “ Ruby Falls”, they look strong and healthy at the moment.

The Guelder Rose is just coming into flower, the flowers are so pretty and very unusual in the way the individual parts open in sequence, last year - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3107414211563620371
