little italy

The Re Store is another Northbridge landmark and always worth a visit for delicious deli items, cheeses, oils, vinegars, chocolate kisses and more.... and coffee aficionado bling!
(They also pack the goodies into a very cool shopping bag with their logo.)

John Re was the second of 10 sons of early Italian migrants to WA.
In 1936, he and his wife Maria bought a property in Northbridge (pawning her engagement ring to raise the funds!) and opened the 'Re Store'.
Must have been a huge relief to other European migrants in the area as they started importing European food stuffs, roasting coffee beans and was a meeting place for Italian migrants in the area.

Today it is just the same! and a fourth generation are involved.
A great family tradition.
