Fog over Southshore

I'm sure the people down in Southshore, and all the way along the coast to North Brighton and beyond, must be heartily sick of the fog today - it's been there since first thing this morning. This view shows the light of the late afternoon sun highlighting the fog. This is the view from my deck at home.

You can see all the way along the coast, including the Brighton Pier and across to the foothills of the Southern Alps, with the Alps themselves shrouded in cloud - definitely a view of Aotearoa - the Land of the Long White Cloud. The Christchurch Estuary is at the bottom left of the image.
