Pathetic!

For one reason or another our veg patch has suffered greatly this year from neglect.

And, horror of horrors, the garlic has been a disaster. My fault entirely, bought the seed stock from a different supplier (cheaper than usual, big mistake), and planted far too late. But I didn't expect it to be quite this bad. 2/3rds of the crop have vanished totally and the rest is one small round clove instead of a bulb. When I grow this variety normally looks like this.

The reality of having to buy garlic from a shop made me get my spade out and start preparing a bed for an on schedule planting for next years crop.
