The Big Knit : Part 2

Seven little hats completed, as part of the innocent smoothie's Big Knit, to raise funds for Age UK. Part 1 here, featuring work in progress on the hat on the right. Observant family members might just feel a touch of nostalgia with the centre one!!

I have promised to post them off as Ch is now on her way home to Singapore, after spending the last two months with us. We shall miss her happy smiles, and all the help she has given us, particularly delicious meals. It will probably be late autumn before she is back in Scotland.

I decided to go for a third visit to Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, this time the Human History collections. Only six in the group, with an excellent guide, we viewed coffins, drums, kayaks, instruments, shoes, weapons, carved stones, and religious items. With gloves on, we handled items over 5,000 years old, found in the pyramids. However, the highlight had to be that one of the group had specifically requested to view a Glasgow trolley bus. When he saw it, it was the very bus he had driven back in the sixties. Quite moving, hearing him recall stories of collecting fares, and receiving sweets from his regular passengers. It made his day.
