Quince Swirl

Japonica with a little fisheye effect.

Today was a bit disappointing after yesterday's warmth. For most of the day the sky was heavily overcast and the nor'wester was cold. Then late afternoon the sun dipped below the nor'west arch and it saved the day. However, the Met Office is predicting a return to winter, with possible snow overnight. Not unusual for this time of year, but after the long run of mild weather the cold is going to bite.

I have spent much of the day preparing for the worst, getting ample firewood inside, and rigging up shelter for my little lettuce and pak choi plants etc. Even if it doesn't snow they will need protection from the cold wind and frosts to follow.

All my fruit trees, apart from the apple, are in full blossom far too early. I can't expect much fruit again next summer.
