The second half of life..

Latrigg

After arriving yesterday evening at Aunty Joyce's we spent some time chatting and catching up. Up at a decent hour this morning where we continued to chat and catch up over breakfast.

We decided to head out for a drive and, as I've never been to the Castlerigg Stone Circle before, that's where we headed. We could feel a real sharpness in the air and the clouds were thick over the hills. The Stone Cirlce was fascinating though bus loadas of tourists meant that I managed few shots without any people in them,.

We then headed to Latrigg - another place I've never been - and did the short walk from the parking area (a very narrow road with pot-holes the size of small caves and idiot parkers who think it's reasonable to park so they have plenty of space but who give little regard for the small caves their parking forces other folks to have to drive into to pass them . . . . say no more).

The view was stupendous - the wind was horrendous - then the rain came!

Just managed to get back to the car before we got too wet. Joyce then had to manoeuvre the car through a tricky reversing then 5-point turn procedure so we could drive back down the road. Back home to get Julie's dog and take her for a short walk to the newly rebuilt Braithwaite dam then headed in to Keswick for a late lunch and spot of shopping.

Great day - great day indeed :)
