The Old Crane...

After working all morning, cleaning the pieces for the kiln, loaded it and had lunch. It was such a spectacular day here we headed off to St. Ann's Bay; Terry to do some fishing, Richard and i to take some photographs. It was so nice to be down by the sea, walking the beach just looking and seeing.

Then into Baddeck for a wander down by the harbor, and then onto the boat yard. Many, many years ago Terry worked at the boatyard so it was interesting for me to see and hear some of what took place down there. we were admiring an lovely old boat when the captain wandered along! We had a great chat with him - he and his wife have been sailing all over the Americas....from Alaska all the way down and around the bottom parts....can't name all the places he said they visited....up the coast to Brazil and on and on they sailed...now they are here to take in some of the music at the Cape Breton Celtic Colours Festival. it was very interesting hearing some of the more hair raising stories....i could see the excitement on Terry's face....if only i were more of a sea lover he'd be a very happy man! As it is, i'm most definitely a land lover, i just don't feel the pull of the ocean.....too scary!

now i'm starting to feel like shit...i think i haven't been very successful in sidestepping the cold that seems to be going around....sniff, sniff..cough!
A quiet evening and an early night for me!
