Inspired by Mackintosh at The Lighthouse

I spent most of this afternoon in The Lighthouse, viewing several exhibitions.

Here are some of the finalists of the "Inspired by Mackintosh Photographic Exhibition", part of the Doors Open Day Events in Glasgow. Interesting to see the creativity and observations, particularly with angles, light and shadows. This is on until 30 November. I like the way the blue light from the escalator falls across the exhibits.

I also enjoyed the CAST : Innovations in Concrete (till 28 Nov), and the Scottish Furniture Makers Show - which is only on until this Saturday 20 October. Some beautiful pieces, some with Mackintosh influences. There are also new intricate models on display of buildings which Mackintosh designed but were never built - worth spending time looking at these.

I managed a trip to the top of the water tower for views across the city, noting that the Cathkin Braes wind turbine is actually moving today. Then the weather changed, giving views of "Raintown" from above.
