Mackintosh Reflections

Billiards Room, Willow Tea Rooms, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

A visit to the Archie Forrest exhibition, showing until Sun 27 October. The Billiards Room is not often accessible to the public, situated above the Room De Luxe in the Willow Tea Rooms. This exhibition is part of the Creative Mackintosh Festival.

As soon as I entered the room, I saw my Blip for today, the reflections of the window in a display case. I was also drawn to the Forrest painting in a tall easel. The easel is an original Mackintosh fitting from the Art School, dated 1900.

Also on display is an outfit worn by Kate Cranston, and reproduction doors for the Room de Luxe. Even the handles on the windows overlooking Sauchiehall Street are worth a look.

Having serious computer problems, our new two month old tower crashed this evening. My blipping may be sporadic for the next week or so, until the issue is resolved. Internet access is also proving a challenge. Oh dear ......
