Grrriindddd Griiiiinnddd

Definitely The was no chance of an outing this morning as The Boss was comfortably placed and not moving from the TV which was emitting assorted Grrrinding noises as it presented The 50th Anniversary special broadcast of Dr Who. Non Dr Who fans may now give this journal 5 stars and leave.

The Boss was an avid follower of this program long before I was even thought of or for that matter even my parents parents parents were thought of when it was presented in glorious fuzzy black and white on 405 line British television. i.e a while ago.

He was telling me how the sets were made out of cardboard and the monsters looked really corny and also there was a tin dog called K9 who talked back and had a noisy motor too but he (and millions more) just loved it and followed every episode faithfully.

The Bossess is puzzled by all of this, well an accountant would be, as fantasy is not her stock in trade you kno, but non the less she gave The Boss a fantastic Birthday present and they are going to a Dr Who stage spectacular in Wellington next year.

The show has changed a lot in the intervening years and now has all the special effects that you can find but the Tardis (The blue phone box that he travels round time in) still makes the same wonderful sound as when it was invented which would have involved the last word in technology at the BBC then.

Anyway The Boss was really happy right until the last bit when his favourite actor Tom Baker appeared in the story and he was stunned to find that he looked really old.

What did he expect…I wondered?
