Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

50!!!

What a wonderful day! We celebrated 50 years of a wedded bliss (well, maybe not always total bliss :-) but the peaks and valleys and the shared history and the love that has endured is oh so worth it...) with our family for 2 nights at Sleeping Lady mountain resort. The weather made us happy with snow (see yesterday) as it was on 12/21/63. Walking and playing in the snow, trooping around the town of Leavenworth (a Bavarian looking town) with hundreds of others at winterfest, lunch complete with some of our
wedding cake, a dip in the outdoor hot rock pool for most of us, and a fabulous dinner made for a perfect day! And THEN.... they brought out this fabulous gift -that had to be a work of NW coast art!! Our 2 sons (with input from their wives) carefully picked out this piece called “The Rose Window” it is definitely worth a blip of it’s own soon, to tell the story of the artist and this metal piece, but here’s the teaser…..It's about the past, the present and the future.....) We were stunned. and delighted!

Such a milestone, such a great family, it just had to be the blip even tho not exactly the perfect venue for the photo…..(we got a resort person to take it , tried to move that stone table out of the way, causing it to almost fall over in pieces , to their consternation..and then the first 3 photos she took cut off 1/4 of the bottom of the art).....Sons Eric (in front) with his family Anne and sons Niklas and Oskar on the left, and Peter with his family Kirsten, in red, and daughters Tatum and yes, Fiona, doing her typical thing! (We can usually count on her.) And those 'elder" ones Herb and Karen. (here they are as "children" in 1963)

Backblipped as the internet was very temperamental, and there wasn’t much time anyway. The few comments I tried to make never made it though --so....later....I’ll catch up, and with today…. and I'll get around to some fun flickr pix!…. (HERE…)
