Today's the day ......................... to tidy up

What is it about going away on holiday that makes you want to go round tidying everything up - as if you were never going to see it all again?

Partly because of this urge - but mainly because it was a nice, bright day for a change, Will went off to the allotment to take out anything still growing and give it a general spruce up.

The plot in the foreground with the slanting sticks belongs to some sort of Fruit Tree Preservation Society and is planted with varieties of apples that are very ancient and not often seen now. They all seem to be doing very well too.
