The Street

The new Kinross High school in the Loch Leven Community Campus opens tomorrow. This is The Street, which is the backbone of the new building.

"We", the Parent council and events and fund raising team, were treated to a sneak preview tonight, of such an incredible building. No expense has been spared. Interactive white boards in all classes with internet connectivity, an assembley hall with roll back seating, a full size screen for projecting cinema quality films and five point surround sound, four court sized main Gym and 2 smaller gyms one with Olympic standard gymnastic equipment and a boxing ring and a fitness suite that Duncan Bannatyne would be pleased with. That took an hour to get round and I didn't even get to see the teaching block. Almost makes me want to go back to school. Almost!


Tomorrow will see the mass parade from the old school to the new.
Unfortunately I will be working, but have instructed the young uns to try and sneak a river of the iconic KHS purple blazers.
We will see if they can do it for me.


Can't quite believe the extra hours I am clocking up at work, with no hope of being paid for them. It is said that if all the NHS staff worked to their contracted hours, it would collapse tomorrow. I believe it.
Kinda makes you want to chuck it in, but who would pay the mortgage?

Anyway, had the first of the sessions Life drawing classes tonight. Might have actually learned something this time. Time will tell.
