An earlier start than of late to farewell our pals, off back to London. Happily it will not be long until we see them again!

While they travelled, we prepared for the next social event. Originally planned as a small Easter get-together for the folk who live in our community - including those relocated temporarily after the fire - it somehow escalated to be a big local party, with 80 or 90 folk. And I had volunteered to do the Easter Egg hunt... Lots of competent folk were, happily, around to help with that, and soon the park around our houses was full of shouting happy children with too much chocolate. Some were wise to the rule that all has to be put in the communal pot (or rather laundry basket - seen above) to be shared out equally, and wandered off to eat their finds in peace.

Regardless, there was enough to go around. The chocolate gorging was followed by a pot luck type meal (table à l'Espagnole here) which not only gives you the chance to taste lots of new stuff, but also a ready topic of conversation with people you don't know well. So, lots of chat about food and wine, and then a brief sojourn for Mr B and I to discuss some IT purchasing, and while he got ready for an early night, I found myself roped into a badminton match.

Now I too must get that early night... airport run tomorrow...
