Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Earth Day

An appropriate day for Seattle City Light to come out to replace ( for free!) our incandescent bulbs with energy efficient CPLs (compact fluorescent light) or LEDs (light emitting diode) as part of their Powerful Neighborhoods multifamily program. Aimed at properties with 5 or more units, our condo building qualifies with 9 units, 8 of which participated. Not every light could be replaced ( we had a fair number of fluorescents already, a few didn't fit, and they wouldn't climb up to our 12 ft living room ceiling) but the 40 new lights should use 75% less energy and last much longer . I find it hard to believe they are doing this, frankly, for free , ( leaving us with all the old bulbs ) but am grateful for every tiny bit of help for our planet!
