Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

The Growing Babies

We had a serious rain storm last night -- really rare and almost unheard of here in southern California. So this morning the two baby hummingbirds, whose nest is on our patio, looked a little frightened, We wondered if their feet were in a soggy-bottomed nest, but they weren't talking; just watching me real careful.

If they wait much longer to fly away, they are going to have to take turns getting to sit in the nest. Honestly, the two of them barely fit together in that little cup of twigs. Maybe the rain softened it some and they can stretch the walls.

This photo was taken early this morning (Thursday's photo was better). The two of them were still in the nest as the sun was going down this evening. So we think they are here for another night.

The big news of today is that we finally bought me another car today. I think the hummingbirds are more important, so I'll tell the car story in a day or two.

After a little bit of a reprieve today, my raging headache is back, so I've got to shut-down this computer. Looking into this screen is not helping the headache go away.

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
