TINO

I have had a busy day today.

First of all I had to take Tino to the vet this morning. On Friday I noticed that his nose, and the area underneath his nose, was red and sore looking. At first I assumed that Lily had given him a swipe. Then on Saturday there seemed to be blisters on and around his nose. So I wondered if he had been stung by a wasp or hornet or another stinging insect. On Sunday the blisters started to dry out. He wasn't his usual self though - more subdued and sleeping more than usual. So off to the vets for him this morning.

I took him in his buggy and he howled all the way there -- and back. When he was on the vets table he growled all the time. But no biting or scratching thankfully. Vet took his temp - it was fine. She checked his glands - fine. Looked inside his mouth and we could see some red marks on his tongue. Maybe evidence that he had suffered insect stings. Anyway she wasn't sure what was wrong so she gave him an antibiotic injection and I got some painkiller syrup to put in his food. Vet had to weigh him to calculate the dose - - he weighed 7.1 kg that's 15.6 pounds. He's a big lad. We have to go back to the vets in 2 weeks so she can check if his nose is back to normal. Obviously if it isn't then there are other (worse ) things to consider ... but we won't go down that road yet.

When we got home Tino had a long sleep on the windowsill. I took the opportunity to get my blip shot - as you can see he heard the camera and opened his eyes. His nose doesn't look too bad on the shot - well not as bad as it was.

This afternoon I had an appointment at my building society in the village to discuss my account. Have moved my modest savings from an account which pays almost no interest to one which pays 1% interest. Big deal eh!.

Then I got the bus to Gateshead as I needed to return something I bought last week. Did a bit of shopping and got back home at 6pm. Watching the football at the moment - Brazil v Mexico. Nothing much happening - score is 0 - 0 at the moment.
