A Great Big Fairy

No 'bliptogether' today.

Torn again on blips. I'd really really decided on this one, even mentioning it to Monochrome who I bumped into in Waterstone's, but then I really liked the little Graffiti Mouse I saw on the way to the office. In the end the great big fairy won.

Speaking of great big fairies... Gordon Ramsay... (come on, that's not the most tenuous link I've ever thrown out there...).

A cookery show about India was always likely to get Mel watching, but I cannot hide my basic hatred of this man any longer. Everything has started to irritate me. The way he slaps his hands together when he talks; the staccato delivery of any lines to camera; his attempts at utter machismo, with any excuse to take his top off; his whining constantly at looooooooong journeys of 150km; calling somewhere that he's going 'inaccessible' (erm, how did you get there then Gordon?); calling another place 'utterly remote' then riding there on a motorbike on a road past cars and trucks stopping for the train to go past the crossing; a new thing, references to 'back in Scotland' about all sorts of things; and every little smug ego trip set piece that is destined to make him seem the best in the business at everything.

Honestly, the swearing comes quite far down the list, but even with that it seems to be getting used as his 'USP' for the Gordon Ramsay 'brand' these days. And that is precisely what he has become. I wish he'd just admit that he's now a TV chef; that his restaurants are suffering because of it (certainly compared to where they were before); and that he's fit for his age but one use of his face on an advert could see botox use multiply exponentially.

Mind you, Mel channel-flicked in the adverts (studiously avoiding the football) and Piers 'Please Someone Punch Me' Morgan was on ITV. Yes Gordon, you cooked a nice curry that these poor simple people won't have ever tried before, well done. Just don't let me catch sight of Morgan again...
