Another Free Library

This is the fourth book exchange site I've found in our town. It is lovingly constructed and quite substantial. What I love the most are the palm fronds painted on the side of the box--they are a wonderful extension of the tree. The round silver circles are switches for lights inside the box so people can see the titles at night. And then there are those yellow post-its on the glass--one little girl is looking for a particular book, and someone is offering a child's bicycle. The idea that this would be a neighborhood bulletin board and exchange is exciting. The resident is planning a second box just for kids' books, that will be mounted lower to the ground.
